Purpose
The purpose of the Taxation Aid Committee is to adopt rules and regulations to carry out the provisions of M.G.L, Chapter 60, subsection 3D and to identify the recipients of such aid.
Donations
Donations to the fund to benefit eligible seniors and disabled individuals are accepted year-round. Donations received by April 1st each year will be distributed to recipients by offsetting their 4th quarter tax bill, due May 1st.
Eligibility
Per State law, the program is limited to low-income seniors and those with disabilities. More detail around specific eligibility criteria, including an application for assistance, will be developed by the Committee once a quorum has been appointed. The intent is to begin receiving applications in March 2025 for an April 1st deadline, payable May 1st.
