Treasurer & Tax Collector
The Town Treasurer/Collector's office is responsible for collecting all taxes and committed bills issued by the Town. All payments are recorded, posted, updated and deposited in a timely and efficient manner. The Collector's staff is committed to providing our customers with up-to-date information on their accounts in an effective and efficient manner - using guidelines established by the Department of Revenue, the State, and local Town Ordinances.
The Town Treasurer/Collector is responsible for the receipt, posting, classifying, depositing and investment of all money belonging to the Town and bills for various Town departments. This also includes the issuance of all town payroll and vendor checks on a weekly basis. Other responsibilities include administration of Tax Title and Foreclosure accounts, Debt Service, Trust Funds, Investments and bank account reconciliations.

What did I pay in taxes last year?
As of January 1st, 2025, the Town of Belmont has instated a fee of $2.00 to request a report of taxes paid. To pay this fee you may mail in a check or money order, or in person by check, money order, and cash (Checks and money orders should be made payable to TOWN OF BELMONT). To request a paid tax statement please fill out the Tax Information Request Form and Email the Treasurer/Collector's Office or send the request by mail with a self-addressed stamped envelope and a payment of $2.00. All requests must be submitted in writing in person or through mail or the form filled out and emailed accompanied by a cash, check, or money order payment to satisfy the $2.00 fee for each vehicle, property, and year requested Typically paid tax statement requests will be completed within 1-3 business days. The Treasurer's Office staff will not perform tax payment research while customers wait at the cashier window.
